THE NOTION OF NATIVE CANADIAN ANCESTRY
Frank James Prewett's son can not remember hearing any mention of Native Canadian ancestry during the lifetime of FJP. It was in 1964, two years after the death of Frank James Prewett, when the poet Robert Graves published "The Collected Poems of Frank Prewett". In the introduction to that work, Frank James Prewett is described as being part Native Canadian. In 2007, Internet search engines revealed an ongoing debate on the ancestry of Frank James Prewett.
In the age of DNA forensic studies, Frank James Prewett's descendants are well placed to supply evidence for or against the issue of his ancestry. Messrs. DNA Testing Direct (www.dna-worldwide.com) have examined the genome of FJP's son. They report that Native American ancestry is absent from the son's genome and there is no ambiguity whatsoever in this result. Click here for a .PDF Certificate of Ancestry
BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES, THE OFFICIAL RECORD
The official record of Frank James Prewett's ancestry in the Americas begins with immigration of his maternal grandparents from the UK into Canada after 1840. The official record shows his father immigrating to Canada from the UK during the 1880s. Had there been any illegitimate mingling of Native American genes over a mere three generations, those genes would be conspicuous in the genome of Frank James Prewett's son.
